Dolls hanging from the Valentine Tree.
I don't think I've ever enjoyed our Christmas tree as much as I have this year. So today when I was supposed to take it down and box it up for another year, I just couldn't do it. I've heard of people keeping their trees up all year, decorating each holiday, accordingly.This afternoon I took the Christmas decor off the tree and put up Valentine's Day ornaments. The tree is now adorned with little dolls, hearts, cupids, white bows, beads, and ribbon.
I am planning an Easter Tree, A Mother's Day Tree, A Father's Day Tree, 4th of July, etc. This should be fun...and I don't have to part with my gorgeous tree.
Barbara - our youngest daughter does that. She never takes the tree down. She is decorating it for Valentines day now. She uses the changing seasons as well as any holiday she can think of.
ReplyDeleteHi Lea- I think a Birthday Tree would be nice too...honoring a family member in their birthday month with photos, favorite hobbies, favorite colors, etc.

That sounds like fun! In fact my sister-in-law and I were planning something similar for Mother. We saw a spiral tree with small oval frames hanging around the spiral. We thought we would put pictures of all her grandchildren and great grands in the ovals and let her have the tree in her room all the time. Or we could decorate it for each season like you suggest.

ReplyDeleteNice! I did it one year, and it was a ton of fun. In summer, I put seashells, sand dollars with glitter, mini flipflops, etc. Too bad you don't have Mardi Gras there. Tons of folks here do special trees for that holiday too.
