This afternoon I took the Christmas decor off the tree and put up Valentine's Day ornaments. The tree is now adorned with little dolls, hearts, cupids, white bows, beads, and ribbon.
I am planning an Easter Tree, A Mother's Day Tree, A Father's Day Tree, 4th of July, etc. This should be fun...and I don't have to part with my gorgeous tree.
Barbara - our youngest daughter does that. She never takes the tree down. She is decorating it for Valentines day now. She uses the changing seasons as well as any holiday she can think of.
ReplyDeleteHi Lea- I think a Birthday Tree would be nice too...honoring a family member in their birthday month with photos, favorite hobbies, favorite colors, etc.
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun. I would like to see photos of your daughter's tree.
That sounds like fun! In fact my sister-in-law and I were planning something similar for Mother. We saw a spiral tree with small oval frames hanging around the spiral. We thought we would put pictures of all her grandchildren and great grands in the ovals and let her have the tree in her room all the time. Or we could decorate it for each season like you suggest.
ReplyDeletePat- Today I saw a tree like you describe and mentioned to my daughter that it would make a good tree for decorating. Good luck on your creative venture.
ReplyDeleteNice! I did it one year, and it was a ton of fun. In summer, I put seashells, sand dollars with glitter, mini flipflops, etc. Too bad you don't have Mardi Gras there. Tons of folks here do special trees for that holiday too.
ReplyDeleteAngie- I like those ideas, especially the shells, etc. I may try it this summer.
ReplyDeleteI still have mine up and I don't plan on taking it down anytime soon--though I may have to if I buy an item I'm thinking about buying.
ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous tree! and a good idea *smiling* It is always a little sad to take down the tree.
ReplyDeleteEnya! I now need to get out my husband's Enya cd's!
Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI've thought so many times about doing likewise, so I'm delighted to see someone actually employ their tree for more than a mere month.
Way to go. I can hardly wait to watch is morph through the seasons!
Kathleen
Love it!!
ReplyDeleteSassy Granny- I look forward to changing it almost monthly.
ReplyDeleteJoanne- Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is so pretty! I almost left the one in my kitchen window up and then didn't:( You are going to enjoy it the entire year!
ReplyDeleteRose Mary- A tree in the kitchen would be so cute!

ReplyDeleteHow sweet, Barbara. If you have the room, go for it.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! I almost did that this year as I loved my tree and my daughter is coming to visit on Valentines day--should have taken your lead! It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMarilyn- Going try it. So far, so good.
ReplyDeleteTerri- There's so many things I can do with it and it's really magical.
ReplyDeleteLinda- Looks like you finally had to take your tree down for the new piano.
ReplyDeleteKathryn- Thank you.
