We all have our specialities and mine is Chocolate Covered Cherries. I've been making them for many years. Each holiday the family looks forward to having them on the Christmas table.
After I mentioned them a few days ago, readers ask for the recipe. So here it is:
CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRIES
1 jar maraschino cherries, drained
Evaporated milk
1/2 cup margarine at room temperature
1 pound powdered sugar (more or less)
Soften margarine to room temperature; blend powdered sugar (sifted), adding a little evaporated milk to aid in blending until consistency of dough. Wrap each cherry in the sugar-butter mixture and chill.
Melt 5 to 7 squares of semi-sweet chocolate or a package of chocolate chips in top of double boiler; add about 1/3 block paraffin and melt.
Dip each chilled cherry in chocolate and place on wax paper to set. Chill in refrigerator.

These sound delicious~I am going to try them. I've never made them myself, and I suspect they are much better than the boxed cherries.
Can't wait to try these. My son will LOVE them.
Tyra- So glad you stopped by. Please come back again.
Terri- You are such a welcomed guest at my gate!!
Mistress M- Oh, you would do fine at making them. They're actually pretty easy.
Rose Mary- They are so much better than store bought ones. My family are crazy about them.
Willa Fae- Let me know if he likes them. I expect he will.
*Wiping drool off chin* Do you box & ship? :)
Mmmm..... chocolate covered cherries.....
And that actually looks like a remarkably easy recipe! Thanks for sharing it!
Angie- Yep, they're mouth-watering good.
Avily- They're not too difficult to make. If I can do it...anyone can.
I love the sparkly graphic but before the singing started wondered if it was hooked up to a soundtrack by Barry White....thankfully that changed once the vocals kicked in. I was starting to worry that two invisible elves were necking on the couch.
Lorrie- Who's Barry White? Am I missing something?
Yum! I gotta try that one!
Pat- I think you will like this recipe.
