This is the first time in years that Jim and I will be alone on the 4th of July. In past years there have been picnics, lots of food, firework displays in the evening, day-long houseboat outings, and lots of company. But this year most of the family is either living away, or traveling out-of-town, so Jim and I will do what we do on most other days--work in the yard, do some housework, read (I have several book reviews awaiting my attention), blog, and watch the news (hope it's all good).
What are your plans for the 4th?
And by the way, stay safe!!

Come to Walla Wall with us! I'm here alone most of the day and Mike gets of at 5. Also, Shiloh wants to stop by and have 4th of July breakfast with you! But come to Walla Walla!
Linda- Dad and I are watching Becka's animals, so can't leave. But it would have been fun!! Stay safe.
Some of our kids and grandkids are coming to bbq and then we are going down to Riverfront Park for the fireworks.
Lea- Enjoy your 4th. Sounds like fun!
Same here. No family--just hubby and me. Kinda quiet for the first time in years!
No plans.... kids are 19 and 21.... we own an Excavating Company and days where there are no commitments.... are NICE.
So that is what the 4th is. I will probably look on line tonight and see if there are any happenings in any of the near by small towns. I may take a road trip to some book stores or just head out with my camera and see what I find. :)
Happy 4th to you!
Pat- One of our granddaughters surprised us late this afternoon by coming to visit from out of town. I think she's going to spend the night and let me make breakfast for her in the morning, the 4th. *smiles*
Hi Sheila- I'm really excited about the book! I've wanted to read that one for at least a year.
Thanks for dropping by.
Thank you for your comments on my Blog Barbara. I am celebrating the 4th July in England, which seems a bit odd, but I have my "stuff" hanging on the wall and it feels just fine and dandy. It must feel a bit strange to be on your own for the first time today; you and Jim. I know what that feels like! Enjoy your read and your gardening. You will be less tired at the end of it than you usually are.
Blessings, Star
Just stopping by to say happy 4th of July. Hope it was a good day for gardening/yard work.
Star- Hurry back to the USA. We miss you!!
Cindy- It was too hot to do yardwork--99 degrees! But I did go to lunch and a movie with my granddaughter. We saw "My Sister's Keeper" which was very good.
...and I thought I was going to stay home! How things change. Right?
Yours is the 4th of July, ours is the 1st. I mostly worked around the house and posted pictures on FB that day. On the first we travelled back home from vacation.
Speaking of which, I posted a photo of me wearing that lovely Pashmina at the wedding. I was so glad I had it!! It really cooled down in the evening and it was an outdoor wedding. Thanks again!
Carmen- I love the photo of you and your pashmina! So glad you like it.
Have a wonderful time relaxing and doing and being and everything! :)
Kathryn- Hope your 4th was a nice one. I'm up to my ears in reading, and loving it.
