Gatlinburg Tennessee: Heart of the Great Smoky Mountains

Today we are going to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This beautiful resort town was one of my favorite destinations as a child. It was very exciting to go there and I loved the mountain atmosphere, the quaint shops (especially the taffy shop) and the cool streams which ran through Gatlinburg. My family and I went there many times and I was also there for a parade, one very hot summer day, when I was a majorette in high school. It must have been over one hundred degrees and many people in our band fainted from the heat.

I may go there again next summer when my husband and I go back to Tennessee for a York family reunion.

See link to Gatlinbury below.

Gatlinburg is beautiful. Did you ever go into Cades Cove? Such a peaceful little valley.
