Abby Comes To Visit

Baby Abby and Riley

Yesterday I made a big crock pot of beef stew and of course let it cook most of the day. Isn't it nice to have that savory aroma waft through the house all day and then sit down to a warm meal that you haven't had to slave over?

Matt, Tileena, and little Abby came by around 5:30 and we got to spend the evening with them and share our crock pot meal. We also introduced Abby to Riley and vice versa. They are, someday, going to be close friends. I hope they can even have puppies together next year.

Abby is one of the sweetest, most tranquil puppies I've seen. She has already bonded with her new human mom, Tileena, and she loves to be held and was soooo cute in her new little black and white feminine sweater (not shown in photo).

Riley just turned four years old. Playing ball, and having family drop by, are his favorite things. So last night you can just imagine how excited he was to have Matt, Tileena, and Abby here. He was smiling all evening!!

***Do you have a pet/pets? What are they and how many?

Thanks again for the good meal! Abby really loves her new toys. When we got home she was all hyped up and ready to play with them all.

Kathryn- Billie Holiday sang sooo many wonderful songs, it was hard to pick which one, but she was from an era that you may have been writing from. I'm soooooooo excited about getting it right!!!

Tileena- We just loved having you guys here last night. Can't wait for you to bring her back to see Riley. So glad she liked her toys. Now she's going to need a toy box.LOL.

We have a mixed breed (beagle and rat terrier, we think) named Lucy. She came to us as an abandoned puppy, and has such a sweet disposition. Unfortanately, because of her life before us, she's easily scared and VERY needy. It drives me nuts, but my girls are her best friends.

Well, she wasn't a PUPPY. She was young, though, and weeks later we discovered she was pregnant! She had 6 puppies in our living room on Christmas morning several years ago. :)

What a delightful blog! and the feel of your blog is warm and inviting!

Janna- Your story reminds me so much of Tai, the elder dog that we had to put down a few weeks ago. She came to us many years ago as a stray and had puppies a few weeks later. But she loved us with such a strong love and was TOTALLY FAITHFUL to our family until the end of her long life. Enjoy your little one and give her lots of love and attention. Blessings.

We have a loveable Border Collie named Daisy. My husband calls her "borderline" because she has a mind of her own on certain things--mostly things HE wants her to do.

Granny Two Shoes- What a cute blog name. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Pat- What a cute name. Yes, sometimes they have a mind of their own. Don't they?

Cute pups! I had my first Boston Terrier for 16 years and she was the best pet ever. Just got a new one of same breed...Bandit, and he's been fun so far. So smart. I put a pic of him up the other day on my blog. :)

Angie- I saw the photo a few days ago. He's really cute. When I was a child I wanted one like Bandit in the worst way. I begged for years for one. But it never happened. *sad face*

Adorable pups!

I have two black cats who I rescued from a shelter about 10 years ago. Also we have a white miniature poodle named Hebert (French pronounciation is "A Bear"). If I had my way, our house would be full of rescued animals!

Barb Davis said...

Donna- I'm with you about rescued animals. I would love to have a schnauzer rescue service out of my home.

We have a little blue creme cat named Puddin. She was up for adoption at the humane society for 4 months, waiting in her cage for a home, before we happened by one day and brought her home! She likes to sit on top of the fridge and look out over "her" home now!

Joanne- What a cute name. She was waiting on you to come a take her home.

I don't know if Matt told you, but I think Riley rubbed off on little Abby. She has been playing fetch all day! I can't believe it.

She will definitely be needing a toy box.

Tileena- That is just so amazing! I do think they learn from other dogs, but she is also very smart.

Happy pups - nothing better! I have a happy pup, Lucy-Maude, who works with me at a garden center and keeps me company during those long writing sessions, as well. Four cats round out this little household... never a dull moment with these "kids!"/Deb
