"You must have a place to which you can go in your heart, your mind, or your house, almost everyday, where you do not owe anyone and where no one owes you--a place that simply allows for the blossoming of something new and promising."

Sweet Dreams
I absolutely love white. It gives me the feeling of open space and serenity.
***What colors and style would you have in your dream bedroom? Pleasant dreams!
Oh Barbara, that bedroom is an absolute dream.... gorgeous! I want it but it wouldn't be very practical for us because our three large dogs sleep in our bedroom (not on the bed though lol) and, during the day, we have to let our birds fly free in there.... the computer room would be too dangerous for them because of all the wires and our daughter's room would be no good as she and her friends are in and out all the time, and the patio door downstairs is always open! I'm constantly having to clean in our bedroom.
However, if I could choose I love the rocco style (similar to your photograph) and would have cream and beige-pink or cream and duck egg blue. There would be an elegant crystal chandelier and crystals hanging in the window. :)
That white bedroom is just gorgeous! But my favorite bedroom is blue with a blue double wedding ring quilt and other blue decor. Unfortunately, my bedroom is not quite a lovely as your picture, but I love my blue bedroom--it is very calming to me.
Lesley- I'm afraid this room would have to be my guest bedroom, with the door locked at all times. Our two cats love to sleep on our beds and I'm forever scolding them. They think of me as their mom and especially want to sleep where I sleep, right in my spot on the bed. We also have a little schnauzer who sleeps at the foot of our bed on a "knitted throw".
But in my wildest dreams, this room would make me very happy.
diane- Yes, a maid would be nice for the entire house, in fact. I do tell my husband that my appliances are my maids. I say, "the maid is doing the wash, while I read" or "my maid is doing the dishes"...aren't we fortunate to live in a time where we have so many conveniences?
My favorite color schemes for a bedroom have always been either a robin's egg blue and chocolate brown or a soft green and pink. Since being married I've always lived in an apt or military housing so I haven't actually gotten to do either. For my bed though I'd be tempted by either a wooden canopy bed, sleigh bed, or maybe this beautiful antique brass bed I saw once. Of course with my two dogs sleeping in the bed with the dear husband and I don't know how practical any of that would be!
Terri- You are so right about keeping white looking nice. We do have a white down comforter on our bed, so I have to keep a throw over the part Riley sleeps on...but in my dream world, white reminds me of fluffy white clouds.
LiteraryNut- We used to live in base housing alot. Now that we're retired from the Air Force, I have my own Serenity Room/Guest Room and I can do whatever I choose with it. I'm thinking of putting a pretty, white electric fan above the bed and draping the bed in white gauzy fabric. The walls are a very pale lilac with white carpet.
This room is just beautiful. Right now My room is ugly brown paneling (from the 70's) I want to find it in the budget somehow to do it over in light blue and white...dream, dream, dream...
That room is beautiful... Right now I find myself wanting to redecorate my entire house... I'd still working at getting rid of some clutter!! Now you've got me thinking... what color scheme and style WOULD I enjoy!??
I will take that room in my dreams, in my dreams someone else would keep it clean and nothing would dirty it up and make it every day to keep it looking just like that.
This bedroom is beautiful. It makes me want to repaint my bedroom and do the same thing. I love your blog. It is so peaceful and relaxing. The music is beautiful. Thank you for the quiet serene place to hang out and feel at peace. Bless you.
My room right now is near perfection. Sage walls (even though I didn't intend that color, which isn't a favorite), navy bedding, with accents of cream everywhere and curtains that tie it all together. It looks so pretty!
White scares me with 3 teens and a pup...and a messy husband. I love the woodsy colors in my bedroom...mossy greens, putty/chocolate, etc. Feels like a cool oasis.
That bedroom is gorgeous, but very feminine. I can't see many men liking it. Now that gives us girls a dilemma, doesn't it? Do we please our man and go all techy, black and white - no frills, or do we indulge in the frippery, like this one? Perhaps we should have two bedrooms? Blessings, Star
Shades of blue are what relax me the most. I told my husband that when we buy our home we are going to paint our walls a soothing blue and get all blue bedding to go on our leather bed and make it a sanctuary that we are not able to here.

Would be nice if you had a maid to make it and clean it.

Pat- I do like blue, too. Your blue bedroom sounds charming.
I think Diane's suggestion of a maid is perfect.... if only! :D
Lesley- I'm all for that idea...now to find the cash to afford one. lol.
I would hate to do white-- too hard to keep clean, lol so I might go with greens and burgundy or some yellows:)

JD- About an 1 1/2 hours ago, I bought a chandelier very close in style to the one in the picture. I'm going to hang it over the bed in the guestroom.

Michele- The entire house...I would love to do that! Keep us informed.

Lea- I'm thinking just like you on this bedroom.

Ooh, I love that bedroom in your picture!

Phyllis- This photo inspired me enough to do some work, yesterday, on our guest room.
Janna- Sometimes the most beautiful and comfortable rooms are those we just let unfold, piece by piece.

Angie- Yes, it's a dangerous color with kids and pets around the house. Now that I have an empty nest, I can enjoy the luxury of white.
Your colors sound relaxing.

Star- I express my feminine side of decor in the guest room. I think we ladies need a room of our own.

Becca- I agree with the idea of a sanctuary. We all need somewhere in our home where we find serenity.
