Rats, they are the one thing I cannot stand because they carry diseases. As for black cats, it is considered very lucky here if a black cat crosses your path. It is only in the U.S. they are considered unlucky. Wish I could have one cross my path right now. I have a hospital appointment on Monday, praying they do not find anything abnormal, not after last year. Happy Halloween.
Oh I thought of another to add to your list - ominous rolls of thunder! Happy Halloween Wishes Barbara!
You got most of my top spooky things--I hate going to Universal's Halloween Horror night. Did it once years ago and can't stand even seeing the commercials! Too spooky!
Well theres not to much that scares me except scary movies and people who abuse drugs and alchol.
Love any animal rats snakes and well any animal. Never have believed in old wives tales or the such. Hope you have a happy halloween! Blessings, Karen
Ooh, you covered both that are highest on my list: spiders and wild animal noises at night. I think I'll add the sound of bats fluttering their wings so frenetically. Creeps.me.out.
Happy Halloween!
Jeannette- That's interesting about the black cats. I don't like rats, either.
I wish you blessings on Monday. Please keep us informed. Prayers will follow you.
Joanne- Especially on Halloween!!!!!
Terri- I know some people who just love things like that, but it would really creep me out too much!!
KKJD1- Were you always so brave? You might have a story there!
Janna- My husband tried to encourage bats a few years ago. He wanted them here, to eat the bugs around our house, but they wouldn't even come near us. We have seen them flying at night though. So I know they exist here in the valley.
Thanks for inviting me to your site! I love it! Will be a frequent visitor.
I hate being scared! I have visions of scarecrows sitting on porches and jumping out at me! Yikes!
Donna- You glad you are joining us!!
Sounds like a good creepy list. There might be a story with each thing on your creepy list--whys and wherefores and so on...
Pat- I agree. I should run a contest asking for short stories.
How about:
Dark Alleys
Reaching into garbage disposals
And hangup phone calls in the night
Have a wonderful weekend!

Footprints- Or the phone ringing at 2 AM...with having six children, that really frightens me!!
I don't know if this was mentioned: I use to live out in the country and the one thing that would send chills up my spine was a pack of coyotes/wolves running in a field just as the sun hits the horizon and you are out on the porch enjoying the view. Happened to me...that was the quickiest I had ever ran (and I was 8 months pregnant at the time).
angstorycorner and mywritersjournal
Writer- I've heard them myself in the country and it is very eerie!!!
Mean or hypocritical people. :) Happy Not-Spooky Halloween!
Bats could be 1 to 10 and Rats beyond that. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo. And I DO NOT do scarey movies.
Angie- I like people who are real and sincere, too.
Lea- Ditto!!
