Bookstore Meme

Hi Ladies!

I found this on another blog and thought it had some questions worth considering. How would you answer them?

1.What's your favorite bookstore?

2.Have you ever traveled out of state or out of the country, just to visit a particular bookstore?

3.Have you ever gone on a date to a bookstore?

4.Would you consider a bookstore to be a romantic place?

5.What's the latest you've stayed out at night at a bookstore?

6.Do you like to go with friends or by yourself?

7.What would your dream bookstore be like?

8.What's your favorite specialty bookstore and what does it specialize in?

9.Have you ever worked at a bookstore or wanted to?

10.Do people ever mistake you for a bookstore employee and ask you questions as you browse?

11.Do you like bookstore cafes?

12.Would you consider a bookstore a social destination as opposed to strictly a retail destination?
13.What's the silliest thing you've ever done in a bookstore?

14.Ever been ask to leave one?

Copy and paste you answers under my comments. Use them on your blog, too, if you wish.

I'm an absolute glutton at the library - I know you wanted bookstore stuff, however, I am far more entranced at the library (the land of the free). My appetite is restrained in a bookstore due to the cost, but if I'm looking for ambience, a used bookshop any day over the "new" ones.

1.What's your favorite bookstore?
Right now my favorite is Half-price books(they have really great deals), but my all time favorite is a place in Jacksonville, FL called Chamblin BookMine

2.Have you ever traveled out of state or out of the country, just to visit a particular bookstore?
I haven't yet, but I'd be willing to!

3.Have you ever gone on a date to a bookstore? My husband and I go on dates to the bookstore all the time. If I wasn't married that's probably where I'd go to try to pick up guys! LOL!

4.Would you consider a bookstore to be a romantic place? I definitely think it can be a romantic place! I think it's fun to snuggle down in a corner and read love poems to each other.

5.What's the latest you've stayed out at night at a bookstore? Well, the bookstore here close at 10p.m. during the week and 11p.m. Fri-Sat...so probably 11p.m.

6.Do you like to go with friends or by yourself? It just depends. Sometimes I like to be able to just browse alone and not have to feel like others are waiting on me and other times its fun to compare what books I'm getting with other people.

7.What would your dream bookstore be like? Hee hee, my husband and I used to talk about opening our own bookstore and it would be a used bookstore with a cafe/hookah bar attached. On Friday and Saturday nights we'd have live music.

8.What's your favorite specialty bookstore and what does it specialize in? Hmm...don't really have one I suppose.

9.Have you ever worked at a bookstore or wanted to? I've always thought it would be a dream job to work in a bookstore...only problem for me would be that my paycheck would go right back to them!

10.Do people ever mistake you for a bookstore employee and ask you questions as you browse? I have actually gotten mistaken for one, but haven't really had to answer any questions. Maybe I go to the bookstore too much!

11.Do you like bookstore cafes? Actually I do. I love walking into our little bookstore here and smelling the mouth-watering aroma of coffee. Besides...this one is a great locally owned coffee spot and they roast their own beans.

12.Would you consider a bookstore a social destination as opposed to strictly a retail destination? Definitely a social destination. I'd love to have a group that I would meet up with at a bookstore.

13.What's the silliest thing you've ever done in a bookstore? The silliest would probably be dancing a little to the music overhead.

14.Ever been ask to leave one? Only because it was closing time!

14. No

I'm not a huge bookstore fan, unless they have a bargain isle. I can't bring myself to pay full price for anything, so I search out bargains anywhere I can find them.

However, I must say some bookstore cafes have the best poundcake or cookies. Now that's a drawing card!

My "runaway from home" place is any bookstore. I could spend a day in one. Love the 50% off sales, "buy one, get one free" and any other deals. Had dates in book stores. Don't know if I would call it romantic setting, but was fun.

1.What's your favorite bookstore?
The one I can get to, but overall it would be between this big used book store in St Petersburg, FL and Barnes and Noble in Round Rock, TX. We move a lot, so generally it comes down to if I can't have the one I love, I'll love the one I'm with.

2.Have you ever traveled out of state or out of the country, just to visit a particular bookstore?
No, but sounds like a great idea. We do visit bookstores when we're traveling, but we haven't traveled for that purpose, yet.

3.Have you ever gone on a date to a bookstore?
Oh yes, my husband do that sometimes on our date nights.

4.Would you consider a bookstore to be a romantic place?
Can be.

5.What's the latest you've stayed out at night at a bookstore?
Closing: 11 pm

6.Do you like to go with friends or by yourself?
Yes.

7.What would your dream bookstore be like?
Big and intimate.

8.What's your favorite specialty bookstore and what does it specialize in?
Only specialty stores I can think of that I've been in would be Christian book stores. I have no favorite. They're all a bit disappointing to me.

9.Have you ever worked at a bookstore or wanted to?
Absolutely! Worked at a Family Christian Store (the best Christian book store I've been in) in Daytona Beach, FL. Loved it. They encouraged us to take books home and read them, so we'd know our merchandise - didn't have to buy everything. Loved that job! Great colleagues; great customers; great merchandise . . .

10.Do people ever mistake you for a bookstore employee and ask you questions as you browse?
Oh my yes. And I love to help them.

11.Do you like bookstore cafes?
I've never actually taken advantage of one. Wish they didn't fill the store with the smell of coffee. Yuck! I prefer the smell of books and ink and such.

12.Would you consider a bookstore a social destination as opposed to strictly a retail destination?
sometimes.

13.What's the silliest thing you've ever done in a bookstore?
Besides dancing through the aisles, I like to plant myself sitting on the floor in front of the area of books I'm interested in, especially if they're on low shelves. I'm rather large and older and have sensed some sideways looks from people. Their problem, right?

14.Ever been ask to leave one?
Only at closing time, but that's an interesting idea . . .

This was really fun! I'm enjoying your blog.
