Summer To Do List

I've started my Summer To Do List. How about you?

Here's a few things I'd like to do:

1. Go for long bike rides along the river.

2. Get a slight tan.

3. Lose 5 lbs.

4. Go for a picnic once each week.

5. Travel to Montana to eat at Cracker Barrel.

6. Visit my kids in Spokane

7. Read. Read. Read.

Do you have something you are looking forward to doing? It may be going to a favorite vacation spot, sitting in the shade of a tree on the fishing bank, or having family come for a visit. What will you do this summer?

I like number 6. I'm going to Montana soon to see Brook--maybe next week when the kids are out of school.

Barb,
I hope all your summer plans happen just as you like! The list sounds delightful. Mine would entail the summer at the lake house, biking, walking, a lot of dock sitting, reading and painting. I'm keeping the visits brief(er) this year due to no darn internet up there. I'd miss you all too much to be there continually for months!

Linda- #6 is my favorite and I'm going to do it soon. I hope your visit with Brook is wonderful!

suZen- I try to only go where I can have my internet. I do have an "air card" which I can use almost anywhere. Now, that's one thing I can't live without!

Well the kids have things I have to take them to and from, but for myself I do have some summer goals, lose 20 lbs (yes, 20!) organize my writing so I can actually get published one day, and read and write alot. Take the kids to the park, the movies, the zoo and to their swim team. Many weekends will be spent at swim meets and on picnics. Thats it.

How cool! I love your summer list. I love that you want to go to Cracker Barrell. I take for granted that we have one in our little city! I love it.
Hope you have a great weekend.

It's sort of summer all year here in Arizona, so June/July/August don't look dramatically different. Likely we'll head up north again (Seattle, Spokane, etc.), where family & friends (and cool weather) are plentiful.

Enjoy your projects and plans!

Nancy- Wow! What a busy summer!! Enjoy.

Sonya- We drive 5 hours to a Cracker Barrel...we do love it, so we make it like a mini-vacation. Oh, what wonderful southern cooking!

Barb Davis said...

Kathleen- Don't you just love the Northwest? We really enjoy living here, but your year-around summer sounds great, too.

I am looking forward to writing on the porch - when it's warm enough for me to sit out in nature with my laptop and write ...ahhhh!

Barb Davis said...

Kathryn- Oh, how nice, to sit on your mountain porch in the summertime! Can't wait until your next book comes out. Looks like Tender Graces is doing great.

Barbara - Love your list, When I work its mostly in the summer so several weekends will be spent at horseshows. I hope Bob and I can get away and ride and camp. I love Cracker Barrel. Some friends of ours drove from Puyallup to Missoula to eat there recently. I would love to go up to Glacier Park again this summer. But, my workaholic Bob is not so easy to get away.

Barb Davis said...

Lea- Wow, your friends love Cracker Barrel as much as we do!!!
*smiles*

Jim and I have never been to Glacier National Park, but hear it is one of the most beautiful parks in the US. We would love to see it.

I am so jealous.I am slap bang in the middle of winter my side.Having a terrible time bathing 5 times a day to try and keep warm.I have a gas heater going which I have to switch off when my 4 year old is around because he keeps trying to shove cushions and metal sticks out there.I have no idea what he is thinking!!!

Barb Davis said...

Yvette- I so often forget that my readers are not all in the US. Stay warm and safe!

It's summer year round here but I would like to get my book edited by the end of it.
No travel plans--not this year!

Cracker Barrel is somewhere we take for granted here, as you know. L and I went there yesterday, once on the way to Nashville and once on the way back! It was delicious, it really was. Shall I tell what we had? Don't want to make you jealous or anything...
I need to do most of those things on your list.
Blessings, Star
