Alone

Alone again-
As the sun rises from it's deep sleep...
As the dove builds her nest
in the dying dogwood tree...

As day fades behind the dry hills
And night lies dark and still...
Alone again.

Although this poem may seem a bit sad and haunting, it is nevertheless, the life of many.

As I traveled a street here in town almost daily, I would always see this white-haired elderly lady sitting alone in her living room beside a big window. She was always alone--always sitting there. I think she must have passed away because she's no longer there. I wrote this simple poem with her in mind and for all those who are forgotten by the world.

I liked the poem before I read your explanations in the comments. I thought about the times I escaped from my busy life for just enough time to notice such things as you describe. Nice job!
